Cooking Class

I’ve been trying all day to be positive.  I’ve been talking myself out of my anger at stupidity and blunt rudeness from people yesterday.  Long story, short:  Please just be polite to other people and know the point between when you get drunk and when you get stupid.  It doesn’t always take alcohol to enjoy a show.

Okay.  Moving on now.

Ray and I marked something off my bucket list Friday night:  Take a cooking class.

We’d been planning going to a vegetarian Indian cooking class since March.  I had found a couple places in Baltimore that had cooking classes.  The one we went to, the Baltimore Chef Shop (BSC), was one of the best cooking kitchens I’ve been in before.  We walked in and Chris was super friendly.  Then, when it came to cooking, Chef Fernando couldn’t have been more amazing.

And the food…  Just look at it!  Who wouldn’t want to eat that?

There were six people and between the six of us, we learned how to make very quick cheese for the paneer, how to make really good chana dahl, and how to cook Basmati rice without measuring.  Food was amazing.

Afterwards, we went home and fell into food comas.

I think that’s a Friday night done right.

The plus side is BSC has plenty of other kinds of cooking classes so if Indian isn’t your favorite cuisine, there’s Chinese, Thai, Spanish, Moroccan, Vietnamese, Korean, Mediterranean, even Dim Sum for parents and kids.  Check out their calendar for ideas for something different to do for a unique date night or just to learn a new skill.
